Police Arrest Men Suspected In Three Home Invasions

COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. - Three home invasions in four hours and police say each robbery got more dangerous before four of the five suspects were caught.

For Bryan Welch a night of insomnia left him in disbelief when he answered a knock at his garage door around 2:30 in the morning, from a familiar face.

He says 18-year-old Dakota Bradford Brock, who goes by "Cody", asked if his brother was home.

"I was right here and Cody was right here. I opened the door for him and noticed it was him, saw it was him," said Welch. "Then these guys come in and push me up to the stove and frisk me and asked, 'where the money is?'"

While the other men's faces were covered, police say 18-year-old Dakota Newsom and 28-year-old Alex Brown along with a teenager were all part of this home invasion.

"I ran inside his room and shut the door and went over to my dad and I just said, 'we're getting robbed, we're getting robbed, we're getting robbed.' He would not wake up," said Welch.

From this home in Manchester, police say the five men made their way to a home in Tullahoma and then in Boynton Valley area of Coffee County, targeting someone each of the men knew.

"It's a very dangerous situation to enter someone's house and if someone would do that, we feel like they would do anything," said Manchester police chief, Mark Yother.

He says because the victims knew their targets, police just went to Brock's home where they found the suspects and everything from a laptop to prescription pills stolen from each home.

"I was more scared for my dad than anybody else in the house, because he is 72-years-old," said Welch.

He says he's glad police caught the thieves and that things didn't turn out differently.

"If the police didn't tell us to stay in there, we would have come out and it would have been bad for probably for both of us, because I didn't know if they were armed or unarmed," said Welch.

Police are still looking for another suspect in the home invasions and say all men will face three charges of aggravated burglary and robbery.
