NASHVILLE, Tenn. - There could be a new fight over the state fairgrounds in Nashville. A company based out of Cordova in West Tennessee is offering half a million dollars to run the state fair this September.
The Tennessee State Fair Association is set to run the big show, but in a letter to Metro Council, Universal Fairs is asking to produce the event. They are offering $500,000 and a guaranteed $250,000 for an additional two years of production for a total of $1 Million and a three-year commitment.
The offer will now go before the Fair Board next Tuesday.
