NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Music City spotlight was on some of the town's youngest musicians Tuesday night. That's all thanks to the CMA Foundation and country star Scotty McCreery.
Metro Nashville Public Schools' finest were highlighted as part of a "Keep the Music Playing" event at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
"It really means a lot to these kids," said McCreery. "It really means a lot of me. It was only just a few years ago that I was in those kids' shoes in the high school and middle school choirs, so I can only imagine what it feels like to be those kids right now."
In addition to showing off some of the city's talent, the CMA Foundation also announced a $1.2 Million donation that will go toward Metro Schools' education programs.
