Man Wanted In Springfield Shooting Turns Himself In

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – Authorities in Robertson County said a man wanted in connection with a shooting on Wednesday night has turned himself in.

The Robertson County Sheriff's Office said 27-year-old Rodney Donte Ewing surrendered around 3 p.m. Friday at the Robertson County Detention Facility.

Authorities said Ewing was involved in an altercation with 56-year-old Robert Lunsford Jr. in the front yard of a home on Lincoln Park in Springfield. Ewing opened fire, striking Lunsford once in the neck.

Lunsford was taken to Northcrest Hospital in Springfield, and then taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Ewing will be charged with attempted criminal homicide. No bond was set.
