NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gas prices across Nashville have shot up a jaw dropping 21 cents in the last week to just over $3.56 per gallon of regular unleaded gas. Experts said it will only get worse in the coming weeks.
"It's just crazy, absolutely crazy," said one customer who was filling up at Swifty Gas on Dickerson Pike Thursday.
According to AAA, the price at the pump typically increases this time of year because of a switch to a summer blend of fuel. But factors like the massive snowstorm in the Northeast, concerns over Iran's nuclear efforts and bleak economic news have prematurely shot the prices up.
