LEBANON, Tenn. – Part of Highway 109 in Wilson County reopened to traffic Thursday evening. The northbound lanes of the highway had been completely shut down for more than an hour after a semi caught on fire.
One northbound lane reopened to traffic just before 6:00 p.m. Three northbound lanes were still closed. All southbound lanes have remained open to traffic.
The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. Thursday on HWY 109 at Interstate 40. Officials with the Lebanon Police Department said the roadway was closed while crews worked to clear the fire.
A NewsChannel5 viewer captured the fire on video.
There was no immediate report of injuries.
Officials did not have an estimate on when the roadway would reopen.
