MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro Police said a missing 81-year-old woman with dementia was found in Nashville on Wednesday morning.
Police said Mary Carter was at a family member's house in Davidson County, though it was unclear when she arrived at the residence. An ambulance was called to check on her.
Carter was reported missing after she went to a funeral at Woodfins in Murfreesboro around 6 p.m. Tuesday. She was later stopped by police in Lebanon for running a red light. The officer said Carter appeared normal and asked for directions back to Murfreesboro. She was told to get onto I-40, but never made it home.
Police said Carter has dementia and Alzheimer's; she also has cancer, and a history of strokes.
