Police Say Woman Threatened Teenager On MTA Bus

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was taken into custody after threatening a teenage girl with scissors on a Metropolitan Transit Authority bus, according to police.

Deborah Lynn Maney had been banned from MTA property, but she boarded a bus at Main and South 5th Streets on Monday night.

The driver knew Maney wasn't supposed to be on the bus, and asked her to leave. Police said she refused.

Another rider saw that the argument was escalating, and called the cops.

When Maney became more upset, police said she took a pair of scissors from her coat and pointed them at a 16-year-old's neck.

Maney told police she never attempted to hurt anyone.

Maney was taken into custody, and charged with aggravated assault.
