NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two months ahead of schedule, Omni Hotels and Resorts allowed NewsChannel 5 inside for a look at the progress of downtown Nashville's only full service hotel.

While construction continued on the 80,000 square foot building, project officials said the hotel is 90 days ahead of schedule.

The hotel will have 800 rooms, restaurants, two ball rooms, a Bongo Java, and a spa just to name a few.

The decor inside each room was designed by a designer from the mid-state and everything from the bedding, wall paper and pictures were made specifically with the Nashville location in mind.

Director of sales and marketing Tod Roadarmel said watching the construction get to its February 27 point was like "sending a child off to college." He has seen it go from nothing to a 21-story building.

With 24-hour room service, roof top pool and terrace, three restaurants, the Omni will be Nashville's only full service hotel, according to Roadarmel.

Standard room rates start at $349 a night; while the presidential suites pricing goes as high as $2,900 a night.

Hotel officials said there are currently nearly 250,000 reserved rooms from October 2013 – 2021.

The first guests will check in on October 1, 2013.
