KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Knoxville police said a
Bledsoe County principal was the person killed when a car plowed into a
restaurant and another store.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported
58-year-old Deborah Thompson of Crossville was killed in the crash at a
shopping center Thursday afternoon. Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk said
Thompson was standing beside her husband, paying for meals they had eaten at
the Tomato Head restaurant when the car plowed into the building.
Bledsoe County schools
director Jennifer Terry said Thompson was the principal at Bledsoe County
Middle School and had worked in the county school system for 23 years.
DeBusk said the car was a rental driven by a
53-year-old man who has not been charged.
