HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. - Kentucky State Police are investigating two crashes on Interstate 65 that left six people dead. The first crash happened around 11:15 a.m. in Hardin County, near Elizabethtown.
Kentucky State Police say a semi and two vehicles crashes on the northbound side of the interstate and a Ford Expedition caught fire after the crash.
The second crash happened about 15 minutes later on the southbound side of the interstate. That crash involved another semi and three vehicles.
I-65 was shut down in both directions south of Glendale, Kentucky for hours and drivers were directed off the interstate to detour around the crash.
