Six Killed In Crashes In Kentucky

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. - Kentucky State Police are investigating two crashes on Interstate 65 that left six people dead. The first crash happened around 11:15 a.m. in Hardin County, near Elizabethtown.

Kentucky State Police say a semi and two vehicles crashes on the northbound side of the interstate and a Ford Expedition caught fire after the crash.

The second crash happened about 15 minutes later on the southbound side of the interstate. That crash involved another semi and three vehicles.

I-65 was shut down in both directions south of Glendale, Kentucky for hours and drivers were directed off the interstate to detour around the crash.

The Sumner County Sheriff's Office, Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department and other emergency responders were called out to the scene of a bad crash Saturday evening.
