TULLAHOMA, Tenn. - Firefighters were called out to the UTC Aerospace Unit in Tullahoma Sunday night. The factory makes landing gear. Fire officials tell us an equipment malfunction started a small fire shortly after 5:00 p.m.
The fire involved chemicals used in a manufacturing process at the factory and officials said acid did spill out of a pool, but was contained.
The UTC Hazmat Contamination Unit responded quickly, along with fire crews from Tullahoma, Manchester, and Coffee County.
Emergency officials say the fire was extinguished quickly and there was no hazmat threat to the community and there were no injuries.
