NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man was being treated for a gunshot wound Friday night after a shooting in northwest Nashville.
According to Metro Police, the victim parked his car on Meharry Boulevard near 25th Avenue North and was going to visit a friend who lived in the neighborhood. He got out of his car, but returned when he realized he'd forgotten his cell phone. At that time, police said he was approached by three men who attempted to rob him at gunpoint.
The man tried to run away, but was shot in the leg. He was taken to Metro General Hospital in a personal vehicle.
When police arrived on the scene, they found three cars with bullet holes and a trail of blood leading into an apartment.
The apartment was locked, but police checked it out to make sure there weren't any other victims.
The condition of the victim was not immediately known. Police are searching for the three men, but no other suspect information was released.
