NASHVILLE, Tenn. - An East Nashville pet owner is turning to Facebook to help find a dog missing since December. It's a dog that helps her son cope with autism.

Elaina McMinis's dog Kane helps her son Malachi deal with anxiety associated with his condition of Asperger's, a mild form of autism.

Kane has been missing since December, and Elaina says she thinks he might have been stolen because a friend of hers said she saw Kane with another woman just a few days after he went missing.

Posting flyers hasn't helped bring Kane back, so Elaina has turned to Facebook to spread the word and get encouragement.

"We ask that any leads we get, people call us, email us or private message us on our Facebook page," said McMinis.

The Finding Kane Facebook page has about 680 likes right now.
