CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Kentucky woman has been arrested for the alleged sex trafficking of a juvenile.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested 26-year-old Elizabeth Cook, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, overnight. She was charged with one count of human trafficking by promoting the prostitution of a minor.
The TBI conducted an undercover operation into possible sexual exploitation of a minor on Backpage.com. Police said Cook brought the 17-year-old, who is a relative, who she advertised for prostitution to a motel in Clarksville for the purpose of having her engage in prostitution.
The victim is now home with her mother.
Cook was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on $50,000 bond.
