Suspect Taken Into Custody After Portland Standoff - NewsChannel5.com | Nashville News, Weather & Sports

PORTLAND, Tenn. – SWAT teams were called out in Sumner County where a possibly armed suspect was barricaded inside a home.

Officers were called out to a duplex at 325 Reed Avenue around 1:30 p.m. after reports of a domestic assault. They said 22-year-old Kyle Serritella was barricaded inside.

The home was just behind the Portland police station.

The Portland Police Department, Sumner County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Response Team responded to the scene.

Reed Avenue was temporarily blocked off as they made several attempts to bring Serritella out peacefully.

After a 45-minutes standoff, Serritella was taken into custody.

He was charged with aggravated assault.
