Police Cruiser Struck On Interstate 40

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Part of Interstate 40 was shut down in the early morning hours on Saturday after someone struck a police car along the side of the roadway. A Metro police officer was changing a tire for another driver when the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-40 just west of Briley Parkway.

Police say a vehicle driven by Megan Renee Logue crashed into the back of the squad car around 12:30 a.m.  A K-9 Officer was still inside the cruiser and had to be taken to an emergency vet clinic where was being kept for observation.

The officer was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  Logue was charged with DUI.
