Local Brides Converge On Goodwill

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A local thrift store was invaded by soon-to-be brides early Saturday morning. It was all part of Goodwill's fourth annual Wedding Gala.  Bridal boutiques in the area donated designer dresses worth thousands of dollars.  All of them were priced at under $400.00 for the big event.

Future brides flocked to the Goodwill store in Rivergate. The first person was in line around 6:00 p.m. Friday night. By the time the doors opened, more than 300 people were wrapped around the building.

"I actually came last night at 8:30 p.m., I was probably 15th in line," said shopper Hannah Formosa "It was definitely worth it. I just saw amazing dresses for great prices. Who wouldn't want to do that?"

There were also dresses for mothers of the bride and groom, bridesmaids and flower girls. Goodwill officials said more than 350 dresses sold in just the first four hours.
