NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Belmont, MTSU, and Western Kentucky will all be part of the action when the NCAA tournament kicks off this week.
The Blue Raiders were the final team selected by the committee. Kermit Davis' team will take on St. Mary's Tuesday in a first-round game. If they win, they'll become the Number 11-seed in the Midwest and face sixth-seeded Memphis Thursday in Auburn Hills.
A week after Kerron Johnson's game-winner clinched the OVC Championship, Belmont finds itself back in the tournament for the third straight year. The Bruins are an 11-seed in the West Region opposite Arizona in a Thursday game in Salt lake City. The 11-seed is Belmont's highest seed ever in the big dance.
Meantime, almost a week after winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky finally find out who they will open with in the tournament. Western is the number 16-seed in the South, they face top-seeded Kansas Thursday in Kansas City.
The UT Vols were snubbed for a second straight year.
