Woman Identified In Briley Parkway Fatal Crash - NewsChannel5.com | Nashville News, Weather & Sports

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified the woman killed in the single-vehicle crash on Briley Parkway Tuesday.

Officials said 65-year-old Paulette Utley of Madison was traveling west on Briley Parkway around 1:30p.m. when her car left the roadway near Clarksville Highway.

Utley crossed both lanes of traffic in her 2009 Buick LaCrosse and collided with the center retaining wall. She was not wearing her seatbelt.

Emergency crews said she was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she later died.

Investigators have not yet determined what caused Utley to run off the roadway.

Due to the fatal crash, westbound lanes of Briley Parkway were closed for several hours and eventually reopened by 5 p.m.
