Accused South Nashville Serial Robber Arrested

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Metro Nashville Police Department arrested the suspect in connection with five robberies in south Nashville.

South Precinct officers arrested 41-year-old Clemente Bell during a vehicle stop on Interstate 440 near Nolensville Pike on Tuesday.

Police said they were actively patrolling the area looking for cars that matched the description of Bell's getaway car, which was a green four-door sedan, when they stopped Bell Tuesday morning.

The officers found a gun in Bell's car and cash taken from a hold-up Tuesday morning of Shipley Donuts located at 2540 Lebanon Pike.

During an interview with police, Bell admitted to the robbery committed at Shipley Donuts and the attempted robbery at Courtesy Cleaning Center on Nolensville Pike that happened Tuesday morning.

He also admitted to the attempted robbery of the Mapco on Trousdale Lane around 3 a.m. Monday; the attempted robbery of the Krispy Kreme on Thompson Lane around 7:10 a.m. Monday; the robbery of the Phillips 66 on Briley Parkway around 7:30 a.m. Sunday; the robbery of Tre's Discount Wine & Spirits on Nolensville Pike around 9:40 a.m. Sunday; and the robbery of the Circle K on Nolensville Pike around 2:15 a.m. on Nolensville Pike. 

Police charged Bell with four counts of aggravated robbery and three counts of attempted aggravated robbery.

He was also under investigation for similar robberies in Murfreesboro and Cheatham County.
