Barn Destroyed By Fire In Sumner County

Posted: Updated:

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – A barn was destroyed by an early morning fire in Sumner County on Thursday morning.

Heavy smoke and flames were billowing from the barn on Sandy Valley Drive when it broke out around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. It took firefighters a couple of hours to get the fire under control.

There were no animals inside the barn, so no injuries were reported.

A mother and four children were inside the home on the property, but the home was not damaged.

Investigators said hay inside the barn may have been what caught on fire, and what could have kept it burning for so long. The official cause of the fire remained under investigation.
