Woman Critically Injured When Shot Fired At Home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was critically injured after a bullet was fired into her home in East Nashville on Tuesday night.

Police said 34-year-old Teleen Sickles was sitting inside her home on Trevecca Avenue around 10 p.m. when a bullet fired from outside struck her.

She was hit in the abdomen, and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition. Officials said Sickles was in stable condition at last check.

Metro Nashville Police said two juveniles and several adults were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not injured.

Police were trying to determine if Sickles was the intended target, as well as the motive behind the shooting. No arrests have been made.
