Grand Jury Clears Deputy In Bowling Green Shooting

Posted: Updated:

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - A south-central Kentucky grand jury has cleared an off-duty court security officer of wrongdoing in a shooting death.

Warren County Commonwealth's Attorney Chris Cohron announced Wednesday that the grand jury returned a no-true bill in the death of 27-year-old Brandon Bradshaw.

Bradshaw was shot February 26 off the Bowling Green bypass and died March 2. He was a former constable and had been employed as a youth theater educator.

A lawyer for Warren County Sheriff's Deputy Thomas Brown, who works as a court security officer, said earlier that Brown fired in self-defense.

The Daily News in Bowling Green posted video of Cohron's news conference on its website. Cohron said he doesn't know Brown but offered to have a special prosecutor handle the case.
