Three Injured, Traffic Backed Up After Crash In Gallatin

Posted: Updated:

GALLAIN, Tenn. – A multiple vehicle crash in Sumner County injured three people and caused traffic backups for miles.

The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. Thursday on Hartsville Pike near the intersection with Craigfont Road in Gallatin near Bledsoe Creek.

Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford said a vehicle was waiting to make a left-hand turn off the two-lane road when another driver struck the first car from behind, pushing the vehicle into westbound lanes.

The vehicle was struck by a pickup truck, which then went off the roadway, into a gravel parking lot and struck a utility truck from the Pike Electric Corporation.

Three people were injured in the crash. Weatherford said none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Both westbound and eastbound lanes were closed while officials worked to process the scene and emergency medical crews attended to the injured.
