Artist Helps Illuminate Vanderbilt Campus

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A local student and artist helped light up the night at one college campus. Vanderbilt student Jim Jin took over the alumni lawn on campus Thursday night for his art installation called "Everything is Illuminated."

Nearly 1,000 balloons illuminated with tiny white LED lights were assembled together on the lawn. A sign nearby read "Please Touch the Art," and participants were encouraged to immerse themselves in the balloons and experience a state of wonder.

"Students can take a break from their busy study and other work and take a moment of peace, enjoy this delightful interaction with art," said Jin.

The artwork was a project of the Creative Campus Residential Fellows.
