House Destroyed By Fire In Oak Hill

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A house was destroyed in a two-alarm fire near the Oak Hill area.

Firefighters found flames shooting out of the roof when they got to the home on Elysian Fields Road around 2 a.m. Friday.

"Police banged on our door at 2 a.m. My wife and I were home and our kids all live out of the house. We just ran out and followed orders," said neighbor Paul Scholten.

Nearly 100 firefighters spent a couple of hours on the scene working to put out the flames. It's believed the fire started in the back of the 6,500-7,000 square foot home and then spread to other parts of the home.

No injuries were reported.

The family who lives at the home was out of town, according to neighbors.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
