Four Students Charged In Bus Vandalism At Elementary School

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Four students have been charged in connection with the vandalism of five school buses at a south Nashville elementary school.

A school security guard called police around 5:20 a.m. Monday to report several school buses had been vandalized in the fenced in yard at May Werthan Shayne Elementary School on Nolensville Road.

One bus had a broken window. The fire extinguishers were stolen from four unlocked buses, and one of them had been discharged inside one of the buses.

Three attended Oliver Middle School, and the other was a student at Overton High School. All four were charged with misdemeanor vandalism in Juvenile Court. They told police they had vandalized the buses last week, but could not remember which day.

There was some delays with the buses on Monday morning, since they could not be used without fire extinguishers.
