SUV Slams Into Pizza Hut In Antioch

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A driver was injured after a car crashed into a Pizza Hut in Antioch overnight.

The Ford Explorer lost control, and then hit an embankment before slamming through the side of the restaurant on Murfreesboro Pike around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The driver was taken to the hospital, but his condition was unknown.

No one was inside the restaurant, but six employees and a manager had only been gone for a few minutes because they had stayed after closing to unload a shipment. The manager had been standing at the front counter closing the store just five minutes prior to the crash.

The SUV went through the seating area, leaving behind thousands of dollars in damage.

Employees will board up the building, but said it will be three to four weeks before they will get back to work.

Police said they believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, but they continued to investigate.
