NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A man being held on unrelated charges in Overton County is now charged in the beating death of a Jackson County man in his home.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said 51-year-old Ronnie Lambert was found beaten to death on March 29 in Gainesboro. TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm said the investigation revealed 33-year-old Michael Huffer of Monroe went to Lambert's house and robbed him of prescription pills, beating him in the face, head and upper body.

Huffer was being charged Tuesday with criminal homicide and was being transferred to the Jackson County Jail.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office aided the investigation, requested by the 15th Judicial District Attorney.
