Lockdown Lifted At Overton High School After Prank Call

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A prank call made to the Metro Nashville Police Department prompted a lockdown at Overton High School in Oak Hill Wednesday afternoon.

Police said someone made a phone call just before 2 p.m. claiming a student was holding a teacher hostage.

The school was placed on lockdown as officers and school administrators checked each classroom and found that everyone was safe.

Investigators were still trying to determine who made the call.

School buses were delayed about 30 minutes due to the lockdown.
