Sounds Open Season With Win Over New Orleans

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A little wet weather was not enough to keep the Nashville Sounds from opening the 2013 season Thursday night against New Orleans. Nashville Mayor Karl Dean threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Sounds pitcher Tyler Thornburg was in some trouble early, but he struck out Ben Lasater to get out of the inning. Bottom of the first and two on for Hunter Morris and he ripped it down the right field line all the way to the wall, two runs score and it was 2-0 Nashville,

Then later, Some great heads up by Thornburg as the Zephyrs Kevin Mattison tried to steal second but Scooter Gennett tags him out.

The Sounds won it 5 to 4.
