3 Juveniles Accused Of Sexually Exploiting Female Classmates

Posted: Updated:

SPRING HILL, Tenn. – Three juveniles in Williamson County have been charged after police said they shared nude photos of their female classmates.

The three juveniles were arrested Thursday afternoon, and charged with 24 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Spring Hill Police said their investigation into "sexting" began in October 2012, but later developed into an exploitation investigation.

Police found the three juveniles stored the nude photos of female juvenile classmates, and shared the access passwords with other students to view.

"What the offenders would do is they would share these email addresses and passwords with other classmates, other people in the community," said Lt. Justin Whitwell with the Spring Hill Police Department.

In some cases, there were threats made to the girls that copies of the pictures would be sent to their parents, other students or even displayed all over their school. Police said the juveniles used the threats to get more photos.

Police said the juveniles attend Summit High School in Spring Hill.

The three juveniles were held at the Williamson County Juvenile Detention Center.

If charged with the felonies, the penalties range from probation to being sent to a juvenile detention facility.

Carol Birdsong with Williamson County Schools released this statement Friday morning:

"At this time, this is a police matter. According to law enforcement, none of the alleged incidents took place on school grounds or involved school property."
