Posted: Updated:

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The man accused in that deadly shooting at Fort Knox made his first court appearance on Friday.

Marquinta Jacobs was transferred to Bowling Green, Kentucky Friday morning and appeared before a federal magistrate. From there he was taken to Fort Knox, where he'll be tried in a military court.

Thursday afternoon, a police officer in Portland, Tennessee captured Jacobs during a traffic stop. Investigators said Jacobs fled to Sumner County where his family lives after he shot and killed a civilian employee at Fort Knox.

Army officials identified the victim as Lloyd Gibert, 51. He'd worked at Fort Knox since 2004.
