NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A little girl from Spring Hill has passed away after battling the flu for just a couple of weeks. 10-year old Halle Henderson died on Friday at the Monroe Carell, Junior Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

She first got sick with the flu about two weeks ago, according to the Tennessean. Three days after her first symptoms, she was rushed to Vanderbilt where she went into cardiac arrest. Infections from the flu had damaged her heart to the point that she needed a transplant.

Halle was a student at Allendale Elementary School in Spring Hill. A prayer vigil has been organized for Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

So far this season, three children have died from complications from the flu in Tennessee.
