Children's Health Clinic Opens In Mt. Juliet

Posted: Updated:

MT. JULIET, Tenn. - The Monroe Carell, Junior Children's Hospital has opened a new clinic in Mt. Juliet. A ribbon-cutting was held at the facility Sunday on North Mt. Juliet Road.

It's a first of its kind clinic outside of Nashville. It's an after-hours facility that allows parents to seek treatment when their regular pediatricians' offices have closed for the day or the weekend.

Officials at Vanderbilt said the clinic isn't meant to be your regular care provider, but it's there in case it's needed.

"We really believe in the Academy of Pediatrics statement that patients need a medical home so they always need to return to their pediatricians, but we're happy to help after hours and weekends," said Jill Obremskey, the clinic's Medical Director.

To keep care consistent, the facility will even send the child's regular pediatrician a report about the visit.  The Vanderbilt Children's After-Hours Clinic is open seven days a week, including holidays.
