Downtown's 5th Avenue Changing to 2-Way Traffic

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A decision has been made on plans to change 5th Avenue in downtown Nashville to a two-way street. The plan was approved by the Traffic and Parking Commission Monday afternoon.

The decision changes the street from one-way to a two-way street from Lafayette to James Robertson Parkway.

It's all part of a multi-million dollar plan to upgrade the city's bus transit system and the city said the change is also meant to enhance the street as a visual arts district.

No confirmed date on when the change will take place has been announced.
