NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. - A Williamson County running group honored the victims and those affected by the explosion at the Boston Marathon, with a special ceremonial run.

Members of the Nolensville Running Club met up at Nolensville City Hall to do a 2.62 mile run in honor of the victims.  Many said after watching hours of news coverage of the tragedy, they felt it was the right thing to do.

"As a community we just wanted to come together and show our support," said Nolensville Running Club member Shawn Berkau.

The group had 10 members participating in the Boston Marathon.  All are okay, but some were close enough to hear and see the explosion.

"They said it was very chaotic and startling," said Berkau.

Runners of all ages came wearing memorial ribbons and some carried signs.  Each said it was important for the group to pull together.

"When something like this happens in our community it's shocking and it's good to be together," said Nolensville Running Club member Wayne Jacks.  "I think this will help everyone heal."

Runners circled a nearby neighborhood, and took a moment to reflect on the tragedy.

"We are relieved our group members are okay, but there are so many other people hurting right now," said Jacks.

Club members said the tragedy will not keep them from running, and they will keep a regular training schedule for upcoming marathons in Nashville and across the country.

"As a group and family, this is what brought us together, the love of running," said Nolensville Running Club member Adam Manternach.  "What happened in Boston won't stop us."
