NASHVILLE, Tenn. – South Precinct detectives said they are searching for leads in the murder of 62-year-old Jorge Insignares.

Insignares was found shot to death Tuesday morning in the front passenger seat of his parked white Lincoln Town Car on Jonquil Drive.

Police said the parked car was first seen by neighbors early Monday afternoon, but police were not called to the scene until just after 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Investigators said Insignares and his wife Harriette drove to Nashville from their Murfreesboro home around noon Monday.

The victim's wife told detectives Insignares dropped her off at the front of the H&R Block office off of Welshwood Drive and Nolensville Pike. She said her husband was supposed to meet her inside the office after parking, but never did.

After finding a ride home, Harriette reported her husband missing to Rutherford County police Tuesday morning.

Detectives said the scene strongly indicated someone other than Insignares drove the Town Car to Jonquil Drive and believe robbery may have been the motive.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
