MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The widow of a murdered Murfreesboro man is asking for the public's help in solving the case.

Metro police found 62-year-old Jorge Insignares shot to death Tuesday morning in his white Lincoln Town Car on Jonquil Drive near Benita Drive.

His family members, including his wife Harriette, are still in shock.

"I have to hold on, so that's what I'm doing," said Harriette Insignares. "I have a strong faith and I believe the Lord has all of us in the palm of his hand."

Metro Police said Monday afternoon Jorge dropped Harriette off at an H&R Block office on Nolensville Road in Nashville.  When she returned from her appointment, Jorge and his car were gone.

"I thought maybe he had been in a car accident or something," said Harriette. "I wasn't ready for the news I got today."

Neighbors later spotted Jorge's car on Jonquil Drive and called police. Metro Police continue to work to identify the people Jorge may have encountered after dropping off his wife.

"When someone came up to him, perhaps for the purpose of robbery, that individual actually got into the car, we believe, in the driver's seat, and drove the car to Jonquil Drive," said Don Aaron, Spokesperson for the Metro Police Department.  "At some point Mr. Insignares was fatally shot."

Harriette said Jorge was a family man, an artist, and someone who was always helping others in the community. She hopes some clarity and closure come soon.

"We really feel our family has been robbed of someone who is very central to our happiness," said Harriette. "If anyone knows anything, please get in touch with the police department."
