Overnight House Fire Rekindles In Northwest Nashville

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - An overnight house fire in northwest Nashville rekindled Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called out for a second time around 3:30 a.m. to battle heavy flames at the home on Drakes Branch Road.

The family first called 911 just before midnight after they smelled something strange and noticed smoke coming from the attic. The family got out of the home safely.

Firefighters were able to put the blaze out quickly; however, a firefighter was taken to the hospital after he started feeling dizzy.

The home suffered some damage, but it was not a total loss. The homeowner said she did not have insurance but she plans to rebuild.

Fire investigators said the fire started in the attic, and the homeowners believed it was electrical.
