MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - As many as 10 vehicles were broken into on Cliffview Court in Murfreesboro during the early morning hours of Tuesday.

Blake Smith came out just before 5 o'clock Tuesday morning and discovered someone had broken into his Chevrolet pick-up truck.

"They just knocked the window out, pulled it right off and crawled in through the back. Something scared them and they took off running, I guess," said Smith.

The thief took his wallet and some CD's, but left behind a GPS and the stereo. Smith said they must have run through his neighbor's backyards after breaking into his truck.

"My neighbors called me, told me they found my wallet on the back porch," Smith said.

Smith quickly found out he was not the only person on Cliffview Court that was victimized. Neighbors started talking to each other on the internet.

"The break-in spree that went on here was noted on our neighborhood Facebook page first, and that's how we found out our trucks had been broken into," according to Kirk Lewellen.

After checking Facebook, Lewellen went outside to see his vehicle had been broken into, as well.

"My glove box was open, my center console was open. And my two dollars was missing off the center console," Lewellen said.

The vehicles were broken into between 11:00 p.m. Monday and 7:00 a.m. Tuesday. The crime spree kept Murfreesboro Police busy. Detectives are working several leads.

"They're currently interviewing people, and have further investigation going on it and expect to make an arrest on it this week," said Sgt. Melvin Cunningham.

The thief stole as little as $2 from one truck, to a laptop and Blue Topaz ring from another car.

One of the reports from Murfreesboro Police said there is possibly a 17-year-old suspect in the case and that suspect may be linked to spray painting the numbers '5150' on buildings in Murfreesboro.
