Metro Police Officer Injured In Overnight Crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An Metro Nashville Police officer was injured in an overnight crash.

The officer was traveling west on Charlotte when a white GMC Sonoma pickup truck ran a flashing red light on 17th Avenue North. The officer, who had a flashing yellow light, struck the pickup in the passenger door.

The officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for examination, and his injuries appeared to be minor. The driver and passenger of the pickup were not hurt.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police arrested the driver of the pickup truck for DUI.
