Event Honors Victims Of Crime

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Officials with the Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole helped plant a special tree with a unique message at Bicentennial Mall State Park on Monday.

The event helped kick off National Crime Victim's week and to serve as a constant reminder. Advocates for crime victims, along with family and friends gathered for the annual ceremony. Retired Metro Homicide Detective Pat Postiglione was also on hand to share his experience.

"It just becomes an awesome situation when you're able to call a family member and say, 'We've found them. We got the one that killed your loved one," said Postiglione.

Crime victims were honored all across the state on Monday.
