NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Delilah McCarrol spent her Tuesday morning at the courthouse in Nashville, watching a judge sentence the man who admitted to killing her son.

Deaderick Lockridge died on Hillside Avenue in south Nashville July 2, 2011.

In December of 2011 Charles Moreland was arrested and charged with his murder. Tuesday he pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

McCarrol said the pain of her son's murder is still very real.

"Some days I have good days, some days I have bad days," she admitted.

The mother said there are reminders everyday one of her twin sons is gone.

"And I want me and my kids to take a picture, but I feel funny taking a picture without my fourth child. I have four babies, but one's missing. I really don't," McCarrol said.

McCarrol is not blind to the fact her son was not a stranger to Metro Police.

"He was no angel, but he was my baby," McCarrol said.

But even with that fact, McCarrol said her son did not deserve to die they way he did.

Moreland, who is now 22-years-old, will most likely be released from prison when he is 43-years-old.

"That's still young, there's still plenty of time to do stuff, but my brother won't get the time to do any of that," said Latoya Lockridge, the victim's brother.

McCarrol wanted to make her son's death meaningful, so she has started to speaking to groups about her family's tragedy.

"It gives me a little peace. Every time I speak, I still cry. But it gives me peace and joy that I can do this for my son," McCarrol said.

The family wanted the case against Moreland to go to trial next week, but they claim the District Attorney General's Office told them the plea deal was the best plan of action.
