CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A man stopped for a minor traffic violation was arrested after authorities said he attempted to take a drug agent's gun and run over the agent with his car.

19th Judicial District Task Force agent Chris Bedell pulled over a vehicle for a window tint violation in Clarksville. The agent approached the car to speak with the driver, identified 36-year-old Jacob Lee. During their conversation, the agent said Lee began to make stealthy movements, so he pulled his gun and asked him to get out of the vehicle.

Authorities said tried to grab the agent's gun and clipped the agent with the side of his vehicle in his attempt to get away. The agent was not seriously hurt.

The agent and several other officers chased Lee down 101st Airborne Division Parkway until he stopped in a driveway. He refused to get out of the car, so officers pulled him out. It took several officers to cuff him because they said he refused to put his hands behind his back.

Lee was charged with aggravated assault, evading, resisting arrest, and driving on a suspended license.

The investigation is ongoing.
