64-Year-Old Woman Killed In I-65 Crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 64-year-old woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash that shut down Interstate 65 northbound in Goodlettsville for hours on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. at mile marker 97/Long Hollow Pike. Goodlettsville Police said Patricia D. Dauer crossed from the right exit lane into the left lane in front of a semi-truck. Dauer's SUV spun into the center guard rail, and she was ejected from her rear window. She was then struck in the roadway by another vehicle.

Dauer's SUV then struck a white Volvo, which then spun into the path of the semi-truck.

Daeur was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said she was not wearing a seatbelt. None of the other drivers were hurt.

Police said the cause of the crash appeared to be improper lane change and a failure to wear a safety belt. There was no indication of alcohol, impairment or speeding. No charges have been placed.

The roadway was blocked while police investigated, but it reopened around 4:30 p.m.
