MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, a Taco Bell employee called Murfreesboro police when he suspected the woman being helped in the drive-thru was drunk.

When officers arrived they found the woman passed out behind the wheel in the neighboring McDonald's parking lot.

"They were able to wake her and she immediately began to become belligerent, flipping the officers off, using profanity toward the officers and refused to actually unlock the door," Murfreesboro Police spokesman Kyle Evans said.

Things quickly escalated for 34-year-old Jennifer Pitts, who police said was drunk and was combative.

"The arrestee then spit on the supervisor, actually spitting onto his face and neck area," Evans said.

According to the report, Pitts who is a nurse, also told police "I hope that I take care of your mother one day because she would die."

NewsChannel 5 attempted to contact Pitts to see if there was any explanation for her behavior, but we were told that she refused to come to the door.

"She was arrested in 2009 for a similar incident where she was driving under the influence and was involved in a car accident," Evans said.

"We're not going to tolerate anybody threatening our officers or any of their family members whether that threat is direct or indirect."
