WINCHESTER, Tenn. -- Despite being a few days into May, parts of Franklin County looked like December or January on Sunday. A hail storm hit areas around Decherd and downtown Winchester Sunday evening leaving behind several inches of hail.
Pictures sent in to NewsChannel 5 from viewers showed streets and lawns covered with white. Viewers also sent in pictures that showed decks and patio furniture with hail piled up.
The Franklin County Highway Department had to be called in to assist in cleaning up the roads around the downtown Square in Winchester. There were no immediate reports of any accidents.
