CARLISLE, Tenn. – Neighbors in the Stewart County community of Carlisle are busy cleaning up after flood waters damaged dozens of homes there over the past week and a half.

"The main damage affects every single room, every part of the house, there's nothing that escaped," said Dale Taylor, a pastor at Bear Springs Baptist Church who was surveying damage at a home in Carlisle.

Up to three feet of water had inundated nearly three dozen homes in the community over the last ten days.

Even though several faith-based groups came into town to help with the recovery effort, neighbors said they could use more help.

"Damage of this magnitude cannot be solved by pulling a friend or two together, this takes some big help ," Taylor said.

Carslile residents are looking for people who can help either with labor or monetary donations.

To help, you can call the Good Samaritans in Dover at (931) 232-5956.
